Obama-Globalization

CNoren
P. 3

Senator Barack Obama believes strongly in the future. This can be seen whether looking at his plans for tomorrow’s schools and how he is going to fund more and more teachers and launch his NCLB (No Child Left Behind) or if you look at his policies on long term income equality. He is willing to spend money now on things such as, health care and social security to make for an easier future. Mr. Obama doesn’t believe that we’ve managed to hit the bottom yet as he says in one of his many flights while touring the country during his election campaign “I don’t think we’ve bottomed out yet,” He clearly is pulling for the middle class, through new tax cuts and new programs. While more aggressive than his democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, he praises her administration and their similar views on a long list of economic issues. “Both have also called for more government regulation of business, somewhat tighter restrictions on foreign trade and more investment in health care infrastructure, alternative-energy research and other basic science.” Globalization is a fickle term that can be interpreted many different ways, but as stated in this article both of the main democratic candidates believe that the United States needs to restrain from relying on foreign goods.
“More so than any other candidate this year, Mr. Obama has surrounded his campaign’s policy team with professional economists (most of them, like him, still shy of their 50th birthdays), as opposed to former White House officials or Congress members.” These professionals, no matter how young they are, are still professionals and maybe even their youngness leads to new innovation that could be the salvation of this country.
